Monitoring replacement of the 1939 truss bridge over Newtown Creek with dual cable-stayed spans.
The Kosciuszko Bridge Replacement is a landmark highway infrastructure project managed by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT). Replacing an obsolete 1939 truss structure over Newtown Creek with dual modern cable-stayed spans, the project doubled vehicular capacity, integrated dedicated pedestrian and bicycle lanes, and improved traffic flow along the vital I-278 Brooklyn-Queens Expressway corridor.
