The Portal North Bridge Project is a critical rail infrastructure modernization initiative executed by NJ Transit and Amtrak along the Northeast Corridor. Replacing a century-old, two-track swing bridge over the Hackensack River with a modern, high-level fixed bridge, the project eliminates a major regional rail bottleneck, enhances operational reliability, and expands passenger train capacity between New Jersey and New York City.
