Project overview
Survey and vibration monitoring during post-Sandy restoration and flood barrier installation in both tubes.
A comprehensive restoration and flood resiliency project managed by MTA Bridges and Tunnels following severe damage from Superstorm Sandy. Work across both vehicular tubes included replacing damaged electrical and ventilation infrastructure, installing subterranean concrete lining repairs, upgrading LED roadway lighting, and implementing permanent flood barriers at tunnel portals to defend against major storm events.
